    it’s ALIVE

Sinice I have posted the site I guess that I should treat it as such and include some proper material. I noticed that HDU (one of the finest Dunedin bands) have a web site . I wish I had taken some pics of them in ’95 (or was it ’94?). I can still remember the first time I saw these guys play at the Empire in Dunedin. They opened for Age of Dog and blew everyone away. The power of those early HDU Dunedin gigs was totally awesome.

Thinking of writing a novel online. The problem is that I only tap into the writing vibe when a, I’m drunk or b, I’m lying in bed. Could be a good career move, lying in bed, chugging beer and writing my first novel.

    Tube Strike

As tube workers strike London is thrown into chaos. It took young Natasha 25 minutes to get down Edgeware Road on a bus this morning – it would usually take 5. I don’t know where everyone is going to park when they finally get their cars into the city….

    Notes 6

Lotus actually made Notes/Domino 6 ‘Gold’ yesterday, but today is the official release date for the new version of Lotus Notes/Domino 6 from IBM (or whatever the fuck they’re calling it). It probably means I will have to redesign the site and update my certification too….

    Notes Domino 6

this quote from Big Al is interesting – it has been about three years since Lotus released R5. “Lotus’ goal going forward will be to release major Lotus/Domino upgrades every 18 to 24 months.” The full article is here

    Vanishing Point

When will the 1971 film Vanishing Point be released on DVD? The shite remake is freely available but the classic is not. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The soundtrack is also fantastic.

    18 quid for a cab??

far out – it has been a while since I have updated the site. I have been working on the new site and updating that – so a lot of blogs will appear when I replicate the new site with this one. Toying with the idea of putting a ‘send a friend a postcard’ type thing on the site too. The interface is loking a lot smarter as well, but it is very blue. Oh yeah, had to pay 18 quid for a black cab from Hammersmith to St Johns Wood last night. That is well minging.

    Blame it on the BOOGIE

there is a large billboard on Edgeware Road advertising a TV documentary on Michael Jackson’s face. That’s right, his face. It is a great idea for a doco and if I remember I will be turning on and tuning in. The number of people stopping and staring at the billboard is amazing. You actually see people just standing there on the busy sidewalk staring at the series of giant portraits of the man. They start with his face as a boy and trace the degeneration into his present state.

The new site comes together. It is gradually becoming more busy looking. As it becomes more familiar it makes more sense, it seems that I know what it needs and where to put it.

Listening to The Strokes (nice) but it sounds like they keep playing the same song. Oh yeah, at last I bought a decent discman and paired it with some DJ headphones. Fucken A!

    London, Sept 11

As I walked to the tube this morning I noticed a policeman on Edgeware Road, something I can’t remember having seen before at that time of morning. On the way to the net cafe I saw three more a little further down the street. People at the bank took more interest than usual in the sirens of emergency vehicles going past. I guess people are a little edgy. Someone had written in the Independent this morning that September is a time that many a massacre is remembered around the world, and yet we tend not to hear very much about most of them.

    Bob Dole Appreciation Day

“The internet is a great way to get on the net” – Bob Dole, quoted on the spine of the current issue of ‘Practical Internet’.
