far out – it has been a while since I have updated the site. I have been working on the new site and updating that – so a lot of blogs will appear when I replicate the new site with this one. Toying with the idea of putting a ‘send a friend a postcard’ type thing on the site too. The interface is loking a lot smarter as well, but it is very blue. Oh yeah, had to pay 18 quid for a black cab from Hammersmith to St Johns Wood last night. That is well minging.

Blame it on the BOOGIE
there is a large billboard on Edgeware Road advertising a TV documentary on Michael Jackson’s face. That’s right, his face. It is a great idea for a doco and if I remember I will be turning on and tuning in. The number of people stopping and staring at the billboard is amazing. You actually see people just standing there on the busy sidewalk staring at the series of giant portraits of the man. They start with his face as a boy and trace the degeneration into his present state.
The new site comes together. It is gradually becoming more busy looking. As it becomes more familiar it makes more sense, it seems that I know what it needs and where to put it.
Listening to The Strokes (nice) but it sounds like they keep playing the same song. Oh yeah, at last I bought a decent discman and paired it with some DJ headphones. Fucken A!

London, Sept 11
As I walked to the tube this morning I noticed a policeman on Edgeware Road, something I can’t remember having seen before at that time of morning. On the way to the net cafe I saw three more a little further down the street. People at the bank took more interest than usual in the sirens of emergency vehicles going past. I guess people are a little edgy. Someone had written in the Independent this morning that September is a time that many a massacre is remembered around the world, and yet we tend not to hear very much about most of them.

attn Lateral
if anyone at Lateral is looking at this – remember, I did it in a single afternoon! Love your site by the way…. added it to my links page (whats_best). saw this (thanks to codestore ) and thought it was a great laugh! I remember how I felt when someone told me my favourite supermarket in Wellington had a singles night on Tuesdays (or was it Wednesdays?), and the sign you were on the prowl was a bunch of bananas in your shopping trolley. Being virtually addicted to bananas and shopping most nights I was mortified – all that time and no one ever made a pass!

Living Death in the IT Department?
hmmm…… I’m trying to find a job at the moment but I’m not too sure that I like offices anymore (or if I ever did for that matter). When I think of the offices that I have worked in they have all been crap (except one – which was newly renovated and brilliant). As I write this I’m sitting in an office that really fits the “crap” description. These kind of offices have probably started out OK but then gradually degenerate over the years as more staff are squeezed in and people are moved around the office. They often have a temporary feel, as though “we’ll get round to sorting it out in a few months”. This unpleasant environment doesn’t fill me with the urge to sit down and attempt to work. Maybe I’d just rather be a slacker!
The revision of the site is coming along (beta 0.02), however, I expect that it will take a few more weeks yet.

London
The other day I arrived back in london. The weather has been a real shock, I was used to seeing the sun every day in Spain. I have started work on beta 0.02 of the site. The aim is to complete the site to what I had originally envisaged (but didn’t have time to do). The layout of pages is to be determined by CSS, and I am adding in a little more organisation and functionality. It should look a little nicer too.

New Zealand
StosselAtl:
We’ve had lots of great questions, and we’ll only have time for one or two more (sorry Disney 55!).StosselAtl:
MMSimon asks: If you could live anywhere besides U.S.A., where would it be?MsGrammar:
New Zealand, no question. Before I went, people kept saying the people and the food would be boring. But the food was fantastic, and the people were like all the characters from Lord of the Rings. They were colorful, and entertaining, and because New Zealand is an *underpopulated* country, they were just so glad to see you.
