London
sup
The other day I arrived back in london. The weather has been a real shock, I was used to seeing the sun every day in Spain. I have started work on beta 0.02 of the site. The aim is to complete the site to what I had originally envisaged (but didn’t have time to do). The layout of pages is to be determined by CSS, and I am adding in a little more organisation and functionality. It should look a little nicer too.

New Zealand

StosselAtl:
We’ve had lots of great questions, and we’ll only have time for one or two more (sorry Disney 55!).StosselAtl:
MMSimon asks: If you could live anywhere besides U.S.A., where would it be?MsGrammar:
New Zealand, no question. Before I went, people kept saying the people and the food would be boring. But the food was fantastic, and the people were like all the characters from Lord of the Rings. They were colorful, and entertaining, and because New Zealand is an *underpopulated* country, they were just so glad to see you. -
31.07.1917

Bought a Seamus Heaney book when I was back in London. Read a poem about an Irish soldier who died on the 31/7 in WWI. After I had read it I realised that that was the current date! I thought it was pretty special anyway…. Sevilla rocks, love the old Moorish stuff and the cathedral is massive.

Big city blues
sup
Have arrived in the first really big city since leaving the UK a month ago. Walking through the streets we see a poor man with a terrible facial disfigurment. Think ‘Elephant Man’ and make it a lot worse…. I was too freaked to even look at the poor fella, let alone go up to him and give him the cash he was begging for. It bummed us out. Later in the day we saw a tourist (who I guess was a doctor) talking to him to see if there was anything he could do to help. It was touching.
We get back to the van to find that it has been broken into and some of our stuff has been pinched, including all my CD’s. DOH!
Needless to say, we preferred Porto to Lisboa.

Bullrun
sup
Love this country! The spanish love to party. While I’m not too shook on bull-fighting, the San Fermin festival at Pamplona is pretty cool. Had a go running with the bulls, and watched a televised bull fight. It was gory as hell and I really felt sorry for the bull. While all the english speakers condemned the sport, someone pointed out to me that in UK/Aus/NZ/US we treat animals better than we treat our parents. The spanish are family oriented and don’t pack the olds off to a home when they become a hassle….
