On Saturday we had to go into work for the day. We tried to find a radio station to listen to online. After listening to London’s xfm for a while I got sick of the loser DJ (why are all commercial radio DJs such dickheads?). We tried Radio Active in NZ, but it rarely works.
I then thought of having a look at National Radio – you couldn’t listen live online but you can listen to recent shows – morning report from the previous day and so on. The thing that struck me instantly was the accent. It sounded so strong. But then it has been over a year since I’ve been back to the ‘new country’. Of interest to me is how a home grown product compares with international big hitters. I had a spell last year listening to BBC 4, and National Radio is definitely its equal. Kim Hill is great!
