Linux

Alright - posting from Linux! It was easy to connect to the internet - I basically just plugged the cable in and it worked. However, I think it is going to be a little trickier to get the wireless card working.

Health situation

I’ve got a cough. It ain’t getting better, I’ve had it nearly a month now, could be an infection, no one seems too sure. Each Doctor I’ve seen suggests different antibiotics. It’s a pain in butt, let me tell you.

CSS, menus, rounded corners and rollovers

I’ve been working on some CSS tabs/rollover menus that are a little different from anything else I’ve seen on the net (I always assume that someone’s got the answer already - but when I was looking pointers on Google I found nothing). When I get the padding sorted and it’s cross browser friendly I’ll post some info about it here and hopefully it will be of use to someone.

Oops - looks like stats logging has stopped on the site too. Frankly I’m not too surprised.

And Dean - if you’re looking - I’ve nearly got the wedding snaps ready to go online.

Wu-Tang ain’t nothing to f’ wit

wu-tang
This is the Wu-Tang Clan at the Hammersmith Apollo in London last night. They were cool - perhaps the best live gig I’ve seen. Everyone was nuts all night - even right up the back. Highlights included everyone singing ‘Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing Ta F’ Wit’ (Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothing to fuck with); RZA’s grand entrance (he was unhappy with his first entrance, so he stopped the show, went off, and came back on again); and the cool dude on the stage (maybe Masta Killa?) with white rimmed glasses and the flag. No Ol’ Dirty Bastard (terms of his parole mean he can’t leave the USA) or Method Man , but it didn’t seem to matter. Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang!

Pictures; One thousand words.

What does this picture say?

a cool inbox
a) Lotus Notes is cool. Look at this email app interface. It is cool. AND it’s

in the ever so slightly antiquated version 6.

OR

b) File-Maker Pro apps can REALLY suck. S U C K. We just got one at work. Could be sloppy programming; I don’t know for sure, but when you can’t tab between fields (because the ‘tab’ key closes a window or something ludicrous) Notes/Domino quirks seem like award winning advances in GUI design.

OR

c)Noam Chomsky emailed me! Check out the ‘Who’ column. Well, HE didn’t email me, one of his assistants did. But hey - it puts a smile on my dial!
