fireFTP is my new friend

I have been using an FTP client called LeechFTP. I gave it a chance but in the end concluded that it was a bit crap. Today I discovered fireFTP which is a plugin for Firefox. So far it meets all my criteria:

  • auto reconnects! (unlike Leech)
  • remembers the directory you were in before you were disconnected (unlike Leech)
  • is 50KB in size!
  • installs automatically in Firefox (just remember to allow Firefox to install files from that site)

It’s a beta so the interface still needs a little work (i.e., when showing your local and remote site try resizing those columns - mind you my screen res on my little X-24 is 1024 x 768). I recommend it and you should try it out and give the developers your feedback.

Speaking of cool: The big instrumental in ‘Rain on Tin’ by Sonic Youth . Yessir.

The Big Chill

Have returned from a weekend at The Big Chill . Scorching hot weather and a great atmosphere. Couldn’t be bothered carrying my camera around so very few pics. Time for sleep.

Wu-Tang ain’t nothing to f’ wit

wu-tang
This is the Wu-Tang Clan at the Hammersmith Apollo in London last night. They were cool - perhaps the best live gig I’ve seen. Everyone was nuts all night - even right up the back. Highlights included everyone singing ‘Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing Ta F’ Wit’ (Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothing to fuck with); RZA’s grand entrance (he was unhappy with his first entrance, so he stopped the show, went off, and came back on again); and the cool dude on the stage (maybe Masta Killa?) with white rimmed glasses and the flag. No Ol’ Dirty Bastard (terms of his parole mean he can’t leave the USA) or Method Man , but it didn’t seem to matter. Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang!

Blame it on the BOOGIE

there is a large billboard on Edgeware Road advertising a TV documentary on Michael Jackson’s face. That’s right, his face. It is a great idea for a doco and if I remember I will be turning on and tuning in. The number of people stopping and staring at the billboard is amazing. You actually see people just standing there on the busy sidewalk staring at the series of giant portraits of the man. They start with his face as a boy and trace the degeneration into his present state.

The new site comes together. It is gradually becoming more busy looking. As it becomes more familiar it makes more sense, it seems that I know what it needs and where to put it.

Listening to The Strokes (nice) but it sounds like they keep playing the same song. Oh yeah, at last I bought a decent discman and paired it with some DJ headphones. Fucken A!
