More lining on the wall, and the loo is back after a day off.

Where’s the loo? It’s back

Invisible Patent Violations

Spurred on by the recent farcical declaration that Linux violates over 228 Microsoft patents, I sent this image into LOLGeeks. They didn’t publish it, so for your enjoyment it’s Steeeeeve Ballmer:

May already

Holy crap, where is the year going? Fav story this week is the supercomputer that has mimicked a mouse brain. Well actually half a mouse brain. For 10 seconds. But actually it turns out that it was running 10 times slower than a real mouse brain, so it was equivalent to one second. Still, that’s great progress.

Wildfoods festival and tanks

The Hokitika Wild Foods Festival was great fun. It seemed so short, being over before I’d even been sample such delights as the “mountain oysters” (read sheep testicles) or the huhu grubs. One highlight was the possum, it tasted OK and I think deep fried with some herbs and spices someone could make a million dollars. However, the highlight of the trip was watching Tash the Tank Girl at Tanks for everything:

Yep, that really is Tash in the driver’s seat of that 52 ton Centurion!
